José Abreu lanza programa “Amigos de José Abreu”

JUNE 9 2015- CHICAGO: WHITE SOX SLUGGER JOSE ABREU LAUNCHES ëABREUíS AMIGOSí AT EASTER SEALS Abreu Donates $10,000 to School and Kicks off New Program Focused on Social Development with Baseball Clinic and Ballpark Field Trips Chicago White Sox hitter Jose Abreu launched ìAbreuís Amigosî ñ a community program with the Easter Seals Metropolitan Chicago (ESMC) Therapeutic School and Center for Autism Research. Passionate about supporting children with special needs, Abreu built the program with ESMC to focus on providing regular opportunities for students with special needs to develop social skills in a recreational setting through field trips to the ballpark. ìThe Easter Sealsí mission to create opportunities for children with special needs to live, learn and play is very important to me,î said Abreu. ìI am grateful to start this long-term program that will help make a difference in the lives of the students.î Abreu also presented a $10,000 donation to ESMC before inviting students to participate in a baseball clinic on the White Sox Field at the school, which the team helped to build in 2008. Teammates Emilio Bonifacio, Melky Cabrera and Alexei Ramirez joined Abreu to help teach ESMC students adapted baseball skills alongside Bulls/Sox Academy coaches.

José Abreu lanza programa “Amigos de José Abreu”

[dropcap]E[/dropcap]l cubano José Abreu inauguró esta mañana su programa comunitario “Amigos de José Abreu” en la escuela Easter Seals Metropolitan Chicago.

Al primera base de los White Sox lo acompañaros sus amigos Alexeí Ramírez, Emilio Bonifacio y Melky Cabrera; juntos dieron unas clínicas a los estudiantes, además de la entrega de cheque por $10,000 dólares de José Abreu.

Abreu diseñó el programa con la escuela Easter Seals Metropolitan Chicago Therapeutic School and Center for Autism Research, y enfocarse en proveer oportunidades a los estudiantes con necesidades especiales., desarrollando habilidades.

 Abreu se une a los Medias Blancas y su compromiso permanente de apoyar a los niños con necesidades especiales. Además de la construcción del campo de juego “White Sox Field” en 2008,Chicago White Sox Charities (CWSC) presentaron una subvención de $ 1 millón a ESMC.
